Colts Place Collins On Season Ending Injured Reserve

Last updated on Wednesday, October 26, 2011

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts made several roster moves on Tuesday, the most notable being the placement of quarterback Kerry Collins on injured reserve.

Collins had not played since suffering a concussion against Pittsburgh in week three.

Fullback Chris Gronkowski was also placed on IR, ending his season.

Taking their places on the active roster are offensive linemen Jamey Richard and Michael Toudouze.

The Colts need the depth on the offensive line because starting guard Joe Reitz underwent arthroscopic knee surgery.

Reitz will miss some time but will remain on the active roster.

The Colts also re-signed running back Darren Evans to the practice squad, releasing receiver David Gilreath.

The Colts return to the practice field this afternoon as they begin preparing for Sunday's game with the division-rival Tennessee Titans.

The Colts are off to an 0-7 start for the first time in 14 years and their streak of nine-consecutive seasons of ten or more wins officially came to an end with their 62-7 loss in New Orleans on Sunday night.

The Titans are 3-3 but have lost their last two games.

Tennessee was defeated at home by Houston last Sunday 41-7.
