Last updated on Wednesday, October 26, 2011

(CHICAGO, IL) - The Chicago Cubs introduced Theo Epstein as the team’s new president of baseball operations on Tuesday.

Epstein has spent the past ten seasons as the general manager of the Boston Red Sox and is one of those credited for ending the Red Sox' curse.

Boston had not won a world series since 1918 before Epstein took over and built teams that won it all in 2004 and 2007.

He takes over a franchise that has not won a World Series since 1908 and has not won a National League pennant since 1945.

Epstein agreed to a five-year deal worth a reported 18.5 million dollars.
