Former Valpo Coach Homer Drew And Wife Both Battling Cancer

(VALPARAISO, IN) - Former Valparaiso University Men’s Basketball Coach Homer Drew and his wife, Janet, have been diagnosed with cancer.

The news was originally posted on Twitter by former Crusaders player Brandon Wood and confirmed by the university late Tuesday night.

Drew retired as head coach in May, turning the reigns over to his son, Bryce.

At the time of his retirement, Homer Drew said his decision was not health related.

The family has not released additional details about Homer or Janet Drew's illnesses.
