(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - JR Hildebrand is the latest Izod IndyCar Series driver to undergo surgery.
The rookie who finished second in May's Indianapolis 500 had surgery to fix a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee on Wednesday.
Hildebrand suffered the injury on June 9th while running an obstacle course at a promotion at Texas Motor Speedway for his sponsor, the National Guard.
He delayed surgery until after the season, wearing a knee brace during the final twelve races.
Driver Pippa Mann had a second surgery on her right hand on Tuesday to repair damage done in a crash at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 16th.
