(ST. LOUIS, MO) - The World Series gets underway Wednesday night with the St. Louis Cardinals hosting the Texas Rangers in game one.
Both teams advanced by winning their League Championship Series in six games.
The Cardinals dispatched the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday night while the Rangers knocked out the Detroit Tigers on Saturday night.
The Cardinals are looking for their eleventh World Series championship.
The last title came in 2006 when they beat Detroit in the World Series.
Texas is going for the first World Series championship in franchise history.
The Rangers only other World Series appearance came last year when they were beaten in five games by the San Francisco Giants.
St. Louis will send Chris Carpenter to the mound tomorrow night while Texas will counter with C.J. Wilson.
