(PHOENIX, AZ) - The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway.
Practice gets underway today with two sessions.
Qualifying will take place Saturday with the race on Sunday afternoon.
The Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship has come down to a battle between Carl Edwards and Tony Stewart.
Stewart won last Sunday's race at Texas with Edwards finishing second as the Columbus, Indiana resident cut Edwards' points lead to three.
Stewart has been the hottest driver since the ten-race chase began, winning four of the eight chase races.
Edwards has won just one points-paying race this season, that coming at Las Vegas in March, but his consistently high finishes have allowed him to hold onto the points lead.
Nine of the twelve chase drivers are mathematically alive with Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch and Ryan Newman being knocked out of contention last weekend.
The Sprint Cup season ends next week with the final race taking place at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 20th.
