(IOWA CITY, IA) - Robbie Hummel scored 16 points and pulled down eleven rebounds to lead the Purdue Boilermakers past the Iowa Hawkeyes 79-76 in the Big Ten opener for both teams.
DJ Byrd added 14 points and Kelsey Barlow finished with twelve as the boilers snapped Iowa's three-game winning streak.
Devyn Marble led the Hawkeyes with a game-high 17 points with Melsahn Basabe finishing with 14 points and Matt Gatens scoring eleven as Iowa falls to 8-and-6.
Purdue moves to 8-and-3. They are back home to take on Illinois on Saturday afternoon.
