(SOUTH BEND, IN) - The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame halted a two-game skid with an 87-78 win over Maine at Purcell Pavilion.
The game was tougher for Notre Dame than the final score would indicate.
Maine held a 64-63 lead with nine minutes remaining, but the Irish closed the game on a 14-6 run to pull away.
Eric Atkins led Notre Dame with 26 points off the bench.
Jack Cooley added a double-double with 22 points and 14 rebounds with Alex Dragicevich finishing with 14 points.
The Irish lost forward Scott Martin due to an apparent concussion suffered late in the first half.
Martin did not play in the second half.
Gerald McLemore scored a game-high 27 points to lead the Black Bears with Justin Edwards adding 20 as Maine falls to 3-3.
Notre Dame improves to 6-4.
The Irish host Dartmouth on Saturday night.
