(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indiana Pacers continue to work out at Conseco Fieldhouse as they prepare for Friday night’s preseason opener with the Chicago Bulls.
The team is expected to officially announce the signing of free agent forward David West today.
West has agreed to a two-year, 20-million dollar contract but still needed to pass his physical before the deal becomes official.
There are a pair of rumors surrounding the Pacers.
They are reportedly working on a sign-and-trade deal that would send Josh McRoberts to the Memphis Grizzlies for OJ Mayo.
Pacers guard Brandon Rush is also rumored to be a part of a potential Mayo - McRoberts deal.
There are also reports that Indiana will declare veteran James Posey as their "amnesty" player, which would excise the 6.9 million dollars the veteran forward will make this season from the Pacers' salary cap.
The new collective bargaining agreement allows teams to receive amnesty from one contract during the ten-year life of the CBA.
While the player still receives his salary, the money comes off the team's salary cap while the player can be picked up by another team.
