(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Three Indiana players recorded double-doubles as the Pacers beat the Detroit Pistons 91-79 in the regular-season opener at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
Roy Hibbert and Danny Granger scored 16 points apiece with Hibbert grabbing a game-high 14 rebounds. Tyler Hansbrough added 15 points and 13 boards off the bench while David West also had a double-double in his Pacers debut, scoring eleven points to go with his twelve rebounds.
The blue-and-gold led wire-to-wire, building as much as a 24-point advantage before a late Detroit run made the final score more respectable. Indiana dominated the boards, outrebounding the Pistons 53-40.
The Pacers shot just 37 percent from the field, but used their advantage on the glass and an equally poor shooting night from the Pistons to build the big lead.
Rodney Stuckey and Jonas Jarebko led the Pistons with 17 points apiece.
The Pacers hit the road for the first time on Wednesday when they take on the Toronto Raptors.
