(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Izod IndyCar Series has called a news conference for this morning to introduce a new Race Director.
Several reports have current American Lemans Series Race Director Beaux Barfield getting the job.
Barfield has been race director for ALMS the past six years.
Before that, he was a steward for the Champ Car World Series, working under chief stewards Chris Knifel and Tony Cotman.
Barfield has also served as the Race Director in the Atlantics, Trans-Am and US Formula Ford 2000 Series.
He replaces Brian Barnhart who was relieved of his Race Director duties in late November.
Barnhart had been IndyCar's race director since 1997 and remains with the series as President of Operations.
