(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts issued a release Thursday announcing sweeping changes to the coaching staff.
As had been previously reported, Offensive Line Coach Pete Metzelaars and Wide Receivers Coach Frank Reich will not return.
Also relieved of their duties are Defensive Line Coach John Teerlinck, Defensive Assistant Bill Teerlinck, Strength and Conditioning Coach Jon Torine, Quarterbacks Coach Ron Turner, Special Assistant to the Defense Rod Perry and Coaching Assistant Devin Fitzsimmons.
The Colts also announced that Defensive Coordinator Mike Murphy has announced his retirement.
The purge of the Colts front office began in November with the firing of Defensive Coordinator Larry Coyer, who was replaced by Murphy.
After the end of the regular season, team Vice Chairman Bill Polian, Vice President and General Manager Chris Polian and Special Teams Coordinator Ray Rychleski were shown the door.
Head Coach Jim Caldwell was fired earlier this week.
Six assistants remain from Caldwell's 2011 staff; Offensive Coordinator Clyde Christensen, Assistant Offensive Coordinator Jim Bob Cooter, Running Backs Coach David Walker, Tight Ends Coach Ricky Thomas, Assistant Offensive Line Coach Ron Prince and Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Richard Howell.
