(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Offensive Line Coach Pete Metzelaars and Wide Receivers Coach Frank Reich are the latest to be dismissed by the Indianapolis Colts, according to an internet report.
The Indianapolis Star reports on its website that both were fired on Wednesday, one day after the team let head coach Jim Caldwell go.
There has been no official release from the Colts. Both Metzelaars and Reich were tied to former Colts Vice Chairman Bill Polian, playing on the Buffalo Bills' Super Bowl teams in the 1990's while Polian was the Bills' General Manager.
Metzelaars joined the Colts coaching staff in 2004 and became Offensive Line Coach in 2010 upon the retirement of longtime line coach Howard Mudd.
Reich had been with the Colts since 2006, beginning as a coaching intern before becoming a staff assistant in 2008 and quarterbacks coach in 2009.
In 2011, Reich and Ron Turner switched jobs with Reich taking over coaching the receivers and Turner becoming quarterbacks coach.
Defensive Coordinator Larry Coyer was fired by the team in November while Special Teams Coordinator Ray Rychleski was released earlier this month.
