(SACRAMENTO, CA) - The Indiana Pacers open their lone west-coast road trip of the season tonight in Sacramento as they take on the struggling Kings.
The Pacers are 9-3 and open the three-game trip riding a three-game winning streak. The latest victory came on Saturday night as the Blue and Gold pounded the Boston Celtics 97-83 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
All three of Indiana's losses this season have come on the road as the Pacers are 4-3 outside of Indianapolis this season.
The Kings have dropped three in a row and are coming off a loss at Minnesota on Monday night.
Sacramento has already fired its head coach, showing Paul Westphal the door on January 5th.
The Kings named Keith Smart as Interim Head Coach and the former Indiana Hoosier has gone 2-5 since taking over.
Following tonight's game, the Blue and Gold head on to Oakland to face the Golden State Warriors on Friday night before wrapping up the trip Sunday night in Los Angeles when they play the Lakers.
The Pacers expect to be without big man Jeff Foster for two weeks. Head Coach Frank Vogel said after practice on Tuesday that the 13-year veteran is having a procedure done to his balky back.
Back problems have forced Foster to miss seven of Indiana's twelve games this season.
Lou Amundson is expected to pick up minutes in Foster's absence as will Jeff Pendergraph.
