(DAYTONA BEACH, FL) - NASCAR will try again today as rain washed out the Daytona 500 yesterday for the first time in the 54-year history of the event.
Heavy rain drenched the track on Sunday with NASCAR announcing the postponement late in the afternoon.
The start is scheduled for noon eastern time today.
Carl Edwards starts from the pole with his Roush Fenway Racing teammate Greg Biffle alongside in row one.
Row two consists of Thursday's Gatorade Duel winners, Tony Stewart and Matt Kenseth.
