(PORTLAND, OR) - Portland Trail Blazers Center Greg Oden will miss the entire 2011-2012 NBA season after undergoing knee surgery.
Oden, a former Indiana Mr. Basketball and Indianapolis native, was scheduled to undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee.
That procedure turned into the second microfracture surgery on the seven-footer's left knee.
He has also had one microfracture surgery on his right knee and another operation to repair a broken left kneecap.
Since being taken with the number-one overall pick in the 2007 NBA draft, Oden has played in just 82 games.
He has not played in an NBA game since December of 2009.
Oden played one year of college basketball at Ohio State before jumping to the NBA.
He was selected by the Blazers over Kevin Durant, who has gone on to be one of the league's premiere performers with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
