(WASHINGTON, DC) - Notre Dame had no answer for Georgetown’s defense as they were pounded by the twelfth-ranked Hoyas 59-41 in Washington, DC.
Freshman Greg Whittington scored a career-high 15 points to lead the Hoyas with Jason Clark finishing with 13 and Henry Sims adding twelve as Georgetown won for the 15th time in 16 home games this season.
The 19th-ranked Fighting Irish shot just 33 percent from the field with no Notre Dame player reaching double figures in points.
Eric Atkins and Scott Martin finished with nine points each with Jerian Grant adding eight points on 2-13 shooting.
Georgegown improves to 22-6, 12-5 in the Big East while Notre Dame drops to 20-10, 12-5 in the conference.
The Irish wrap up the regular season at home Friday night when they host Providence.
