(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The NFL Scouting Combine gets underway today at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
More than 300 prospects are expected to participate in drills as well as physical and mental testing in preparation for the NFL Draft in April.
The combine continues through Tuesday, February 28th.
The hometown Colts hold the number one overall pick in the draft and are expected to take either Stanford Quarterback Andrew Luck or Baylor Quarterback Robert Griffin III with the top selection.
Luck and Griffin will be in Indianapolis for the combine but are not expected to throw for NFL scouts until their schools' pro days.
Baylor's pro day is scheduled for March 21st with Stanford holding its pro day the following day.
The Colts went 2-14 after losing quarterback Peyton Manning for the entire season following neck surgery.
Manning's status with the Colts is in limbo as the four-time MVP is owed a 28 million dollar option bonus which would kick in the remaining four years of Manning's deal.
The Colts would like to renegotiate the contract and will likely release manning if a deal is not reached. Either way, Team Owner Jim Irsay has said that the Colts will pick Manning's successor in this April's draft.
