(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Peyton Manning continues to progress from neck surgery last September.
ESPN reports that the Colts quarterback has been medically cleared to resume his NFL career.
Dr. Robert Watkins has instructed Manning to continue an aggressive rehabilitation program and says that the stability in Manning's neck would have allowed Manning to play this Sunday provided the nerves in his arm had regenerated to a satisfactory performance level. The nerve regeneration remains the question mark as to whether or not manning will play again.
Colts owner Jim Irsay tweeted early this morning that manning has not passed a Colts physical and has not been cleared to play by the team. Irsay says the team will issue a statement today.
