(VALPARAISO, IN) - The Valparaiso Crusaders clinched their first Horizon League regular season championship with a 66-62 overtime victory over the Loyola Ramblers.
Ryan Broekhoff led Valpo with 17 points and eleven rebounds with Will Bogan finishing with 16 points and Kevin Van Wijk adding twelve.
Ben Averkamp led the Ramblers with 21 points as Loyola falls to 7-20, 1-15 in Horizon League play.
Valparaiso improves to 20-10, 13-4 in the conference.
The Crusaders' win combined with Cleveland State's loss at Green Bay gives Valpo the title as they will host the Horizon League Tournament late next week.
