(BLOOMINGTON) - Hundreds of IU basketball fans rallied outside Assembly Hall, Sunday afternoon, to welcome home the team fresh off a Saturday victory.
For students like Laura Walker, it was a memorable moment.
"I've had season tickets all four years and like been to every single game cheering on the Hoosiers," said Walker. "This is like a dream come true."
The players gave fans high fives, signed autographs, and then thanked the fans.
"It's things like this that makes winning fun," said Derek Elston to the crowd. "To come off the bus and see all the fans support, unbelievable."
It's been that support, Coach Tom Crean said, that has made Hoosier history.
"It's people like you that have helped make the confidence grow with the work ethic and the desire that these guys have to be successful," said Crean. "You have helped fuel that since the very beginning. Thank you very, very much!"
He urged fans to continue to cheer the Hoosiers on as they get ready for a re-match against Kentucky in Atlanta.
"We do not need to see a sea of blue inside of that dome when Friday night comes. It needs to be cream and crimson," said Crean. "Whatever you gotta do to get to Atlanta, find a way to get there."
