(UNDATED) - The Indiana Hoosiers will face New Mexico State in their first game of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.
The Hoosiers are the number-four seed in the South regional and open play in the late game on Thursday night in Portland.
The Hoosiers are 25-and-8 on the season and are coming off a 79-71 loss to Wisconsin in last Friday's quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament.
The Aggies are 26-and-9 and are champions of the Western Athletic Conference. They knocked off Louisiana Tech 82-57 in Saturday's WAC Championship game to receive an automatic berth.
Boilermakers Start NCAA Tourney Play On Friday
The Purdue Boilermakers open NCAA tournament play on Friday evening when they take on the Gaels of St. Mary's in Omaha.
The Boilers are the number-ten seed in the Midwest region and enter the tournament with a 21-and-12 record.
Purdue lost to Ohio State 88-71 in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament last Friday.
The Gaels are 27-and-5 and are both the regular season and tournament champion of the West Coast Conference. St. Mary's has not played since beating Gonzaga 78-74 in overtime of the WCC championship game last Monday night.
Notre Dame To Face Xavier
The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame drew the Xavier Musketeers as their first opponent in the NCAA tournament. The game will be played late Friday night in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The Irish are the number-seven seed in the South region at 22-and-11. They are coming off a 64-50 loss to eventual champion Louisville in the semifinals of the Big East Tournament.
The Musketeers are 21-and-12 after their 67-56 loss to St. Bonaventure in Sunday's Atlantic-Ten championship game.
