(SEBRING, FL) - The IZOD IndyCar series open test at Sebring International Raceway resumes today.
Sixteen cars are scheduled to participate in phase two of the four-day practice session. Among those scheduled to run today and tomorrow are defending series champion Dario Franchitti and his Target-Ganassi Racing teammate Scott Dixon.
KV Racing's Rubens Barrichello is also on today's roster. Barrichello is making the jump to the IndyCar Series after spending 19 seasons in Formula One.
Another sidelight is the Lotus engine. Simona de Silvestro was the lone driver in the first group using the Lotus engine and her car was the slowest of the ten involved in Monday and Tuesday's test sessions. Mechanical problems with the engine kept her off the pace of the Chevrolet and Honda teams.
Four Lotus-powered cars are scheduled to participate today and tomorrow. Those are the two Lotus Dragon cars of Katherine Legge and Sebastien Bourdais, Lotus Dreyer and Reinbold Racing's Oriol Servia and Team Barracuda's Alex Tagliani.
