(BRISTOL, TN) - Brad Kesolowski held off Matt Kenseth on a late restart to win Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Kesolowski dominated the race, leading 231 of the 500 laps, but received a challenge from Kenseth after Tony Stewart hit the wall with 21 laps remaining to bring out the yellow flag. Kesolowski beat Kenseth to the checkered flag by just over seven-tenths of a second to claim his first win of the young season.
Martin Truex Junior finished third with Clint Bowyer and Brian Vickers rounding out the top five.
Pole winner Greg Biffle finished 13th, but that was good enough to maintain the Sprint Cup points lead by nine over Kevin Harvick, who finished eleventh.
Among the Indiana drivers, Ryan Newman finished twelfth followed by Stewart in 14th, Jeff Gordon in 35th and David Stremme in 38th.
NASCAR heads back west this weekend as the Sprint Cup Series races at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California on Sunday.
