(UNDATED) - In the Women’s NCAA Basketball Tournament, Notre Dame jumped on Liberty early as the Fighting Irish cruised to a 74-43 victory in a First-Round game at Purcell Pavilion in South Bend.
The Irish opened the game with an 11-0 run over the first 1:36 and led 44-19 at halftime.
Kayla McBride led a balanced Notre Dame attack with 15 points with Natalie Novosel adding eleven as the top-seeded Irish improve to 31-and-3.
Devin Brown led the Lady Flames with a game-high 16 points as Liberty ends its season at 24-and-9.
Notre Dame will take on California in Round Two on Tuesday night in South Bend.
Lady Boilermakers Face South Carolina
A berth in the Sweet-16 is on the line tonight at Mackey Arena as the Purdue Boilermakers host the South Carolina Gamecocks.
The fourth-seeded Boilers won their tournament opener on Saturday, knocking off South Dakota State 83-68.
Sophomore guard Courtney Moses led Purdue with 29 points in the win over the Jackrabbits, tying a career-best by nailing seven three-pointers.
South Carolina pounded Eastern Michigan in the First Round 80-48.
