(WEST LAFAYETTE) - The Boilermakers were eliminated by South Carolina 72-61 in a second-round women’s NCAA tournament game at Mackey Arena.
Markesia Grant led the fifth-seeded Gamecocks with 21 points with Ieasia Walker adding 17 and Lakeisha Sutton and Ashley Bruner scoring ten points apiece. KK Houser led Purdue with 15 points with Brittany Rayburn adding 13 as the Boilers end their season at 25-and-9.
South Carolina will face top-seeded Stanford in the Fresno Regional semifinals this weekend.
Notre Dame To Face California
Notre Dame continues its march in the NCAA Women's Tournament tonight as they welcome the California Golden Bears to Purcell Pavilion.
The top-seeded Fighting Irish were easy 74-43 winners over 16th-seeded Liberty on Sunday afternoon.
Cal is the number-eight seed in the Raleigh region. The Bears were 84-74 winners over Iowa on Sunday in South Bend.
Tonight's winner advances to the Sweet 16 where they will face the winner of tonight's game between Marist and St. Bonaventure on Sunday.
