(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Pacers can win their first NBA playoff series in seven years as they try to close out their opening-round Eastern Conference playoff series with the Orlando Magic tonight at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
The Pacers took a three-games-to-one lead in the best-of-seven series with a 101-99 overtime victory Saturday afternoon in Orlando. The Blue-and-Gold survived blowing an 19-point, fourth-quarter lead to pull out the win and take command in the series.
Indiana has not won a playoff series since 2005 when they eliminated the Boston Celtics in seven games in a first-round series. They wound up losing to Detroit in Round Two that season.
If the Pacers can knock out Orlando, they will face the winner of the Miami Heat - New York Knicks series in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Heat lead that series three games to one after New York avoided a sweep with an 89-87 win at Madison Square Garden on Sunday afternoon.
If the Magic prevail tonight they would force a Game Six in Orlando on Friday night.
