(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana Pacers Head Coach Frank Vogel says he is looking forward to getting a chance to work with his team.
Vogel has been on the job for more than a year, but he took over the team in the middle of the season and then last season's lockout wiped out training camp and forced teams to contend with a condensed regular season schedule. He says if the Pacers can keep their young nucleus of players together, they can contend for championships for the next several years.
The Blue-and-Gold enter the offseason with some decisions to make as two of those young players - center Roy Hibbert and guard George Hill - are restricted free agents. Backups Leandro Barbosa, AJ Price, Lou Amundson and Kyrylo Fesenko are unrestricted free agents.
Vogel made his comments during his end of season news conference on Tuesday.
The Pacers finished the regular season at 42-and-24 and reached the Eastern Conference Semifinals before being eliminated by the Miami Heat in six games.
Team President Larry Bird will meet with the media this morning.
