(Sonoma, CA) - Clint Bowyer edged Tony Stewart in a green-white-checkered finish to win the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California.
Bowyer led a race-high 71 laps and held off late challenges by Stewart and Kurt Busch to pick up his first win of the season. It marked Bowyer's first Sprint Cup win on a road course and his first win with Michael Waltrip Racing.
Stewart was second followed by Busch, Brian Vickers and Jimmie Johnson. Points leader Matt Kenseth finished 13th and holds an eleven-point lead over Greg Biffle, whose seventh-place finish in yesterday's race was good enough to move him past Dale Earnhardt Junior into second place. Earnhardt finished 23rd.
Stewart's second-place finish was the best among the drivers with Indiana ties. Jeff Gordon finished sixth while Ryan Newman was 18th. The Sprint Cup Series is back in action on Saturday night at Kentucky Speedway.
