(Indianapolis, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts trimmed their roster on Wednesday, waiving quarterback Trevor Vittatoe.
Vittatoe signed as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago Bears last summer after playing collegiately at UTEP. He spent time with the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena League before signing with the Colts last March.
The move leaves the Colts with just three quarterbacks on the roster - rookies Andrew Luck and Chandler Harnish and veteran Drew Stanton. No corresponding addition was announced, so the Colts currently have 89 players on the roster.
Luck, the number-one overall pick in April's NFL Draft, remains unsigned. Second and third-round selections Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen are also unsigned. Fleener and Allen are both tight ends.
No formal team workouts are scheduled between now and the first practice of training camp on July 29th at Anderson University.
