(Brooklyn, MI) - Dale Earnhardt Junior picked up his first NASCAR Sprint Cup win in more than four years, taking Sunday’s Quicken Loans 400 at Michigan International Speedway.
Earnhardt led a race-high 95 laps to halt a 143-start winless streak in NASCAR's top series. His last win came at Michigan on Father's Day in 2008.\
Columbus, Indiana native Tony Stewart finished second, more than five seconds behind, with Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle and Jimmie Johnson rounding out the top five. Kenseth maintains the Sprint Cup points lead, but his lead is down to four over Earnhardt.
Among the other drivers with Indiana ties, Jeff Gordon finished sixth, Ryan Newman was 15th and Tony Raines came in 36th.
Next up for the Cup cars is the first road course of the season as they race at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California on Sunday.
