(SOUTH BEND) - There’s a renewed push to move the College Football Hall of Fame out of South Bend.
WSBT-TV reports the National Football Foundation has indicated the scheduled opening date of the new Hall in Atlanta, Georgia will be the fourth quarter of 2014. The Hall's current lease in South Bend is set to expire at the end of this year.
The NFF voted to move the Hall of Fame in 2009. The project had moved forward with an opening date of September 2013 until a lack in funding delayed the project.
A new management team worked to secure new sponsors, allowing the project to resume.
