(Uncasville, CT) - The Indiana Fever’s struggles continue as the Fever fell to the Connecitcut Sun 88-85 in overtime.
The Sun led by as many as twelve points in the first quarter, but Indiana came back to tie the game in the final minute of the third quarter.
Connecticut held a two-point lead in the final minute of regulation when Tamika Catching's driving layup with 13.6 seconds remaining tied the score at 81 and forced overtime.
The Fever jumped out to the early lead in the extra session thanks to a pair of Katie Douglas baskets, but Tina Charles' layup with 42 seconds left gave the Sun their first lead of overtime at 86-85. Kara Lawson would hit a jumper with five seconds left to extend the lead to three.
Briann January missed a three-pointer at the horn as the Sun run their record to 2-and-0 against Indiana this season.
Lawson led the Sun with 22 points with Charles adding 14 points and eight rebounds as Connecticut wins its third game in a row to improve to 9-and-2 on the season.
Douglas scored a game-high 23 for Indiana with Catchings adding 14 as the Fever have dropped four of their last five to drop to 5-and-4.
Indiana and Connecticut meet again tomorrow night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
