(Indianapolis, IN) - On-track activity for the “Super Weekend” at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway does not get underway until Thursday.
GRAND-AM makes its IMS debut this week as two series - the Continental Tire Series and the ROLEX Series - will race on the Speedway's road course. GRAND-AM practices on Thursday with qualifying and races on Friday.
The NASCAR Nationwide Series will have two practice sessions on the IMS oval on Thursday with qualifying and the race on Saturday afternoon.
The Sprint Cup Series will have two practice sessions on Saturday morning with qualifying on Saturday afternoon. The Curtiss Shaver 400 will end the "Super Weekend" on Sunday afternoon.
Curtiss Shaver is an Alabama firefighter who was named the winner of Crown Royal's "Your Hero's Name Here" contest to determine who the race will be named after.
Paul Menard is the defending race winner while Matt Kenseth enters the weekend with a 16-point lead on Dale Earnhardt Junior in the Sprint Cup standings.
