Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto and St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Carlos Beltran were named starters for the National League.

Cardinals third baseman David Freese is one of the five "final vote" candidates with his participation dependent on mobile web and text balloting over the next few days.
The Texas Rangers and the New York Yankees make up six of the eight starting position players on the American League All-Star team. No Chicago White Sox or Cleveland Indians players are in the starting lineup.
Indians closer Chris Perez and White Sox starter Chris Sale are on the pitching roster with Cleveland shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera and Chicago first baseman Paul Konerko and designated hitter Adam Dunn making the team as reserves.
