(Indianapolis, IN) - Activity gets underway Thursday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as the NASCAR Nationwide Series will have two practice sessions on the IMS oval.
Those will be the only practice sessions for the Nationwide Series cars before qualifying on Saturday. The race is scheduled for late Saturday afternoon.
Elliot Sadler is the points leader in the Nationwide Series and holds an eleven-point advantage on Austin Dillon with Ricky Stenhouse Junior 19 points back.
The Speedway's road course will be in use on Friday with practice, qualifying and races scheduled for GRAND-AM's Continental Tire Series and ROLEX Series sports cars.
The main attraction of the "Super Weekend" is Sunday's Curtiss Shaver 400 Sprint Cup race. The Sprint Cup cars will practice twice on Saturday with qualifying on Saturday afternoon before the Nationwide Series race.
Paul Menard is the defending winner of the race known as the Brickyard 400 last year. Matt Kenseth is the Sprint Cup points leader while Brad Keselowski is tenth in points as seven races remain before the start of the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
