(Denver, CO) The Cincinnati Reds tied their longest winning streak in 14 years with a 7-2 win over the Colorado Rockies.
Mat Latos threw eight strong innings, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out eight as the Reds extend their winning streak to ten games, their best such stretch since 1998.
Drew Stubbs hit a two-run home run and drove in three with Miguel Cairo driving in a pair of runs and Jay Bruce adding a solo shot, his 20th homer of the year.
The Cincinnati win combined with Pittsburgh's loss in Houston gives the Reds a three-game lead over the Pirates in the NL Central.
