(INDIANAPOLIS) - Officials have announced the name of this year’s Brickyard 400.
This year's race will be called the Crown Royal Presents the Curtiss Shaver 400 at the Brickyard Powered by BigMachineRecords.com.
Curtiss Shaver, a firefighter from Troy, Alabama, is the winner of the "Your Hero's Name Here" contest. The contest featured five heroes as finalists to have their name on the race.
Shaver will ride in the pace car before the race, present the trophy bearing his name to the winning driver and will get an opportunity to kiss the bricks at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Shaver, a huge NASCAR fan, calls the honor "absolutely unbelievable." He says he looks forward to representing emergency personnel everywhere.
It's the sixth time that Crown Royal has awarded naming rights to an adult race fan.
