(Baltimore, MD) - Dylan Axelrod threw seven and a third innings of three-hit ball as the Chicago White Sox knocked off the Baltimore Orioles 8-1.
The Sox jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first on a two-run double from Alex Rios and a two-run single from Alexei Ramirez.
Gordon Beckham would add an R-B-I double in the fourth and a two-run single in the sixth as the rout was on.
Axelrod, who was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, allowed one earned run in evening his record at 2-2.
The Orioles had their four-game winning streak come to an end.
Chicago's win combined with Detroit's 1-0 loss in Kansas City gives the Sox a three-game lead over the Tigers in the AL Central.
