(St. Louis, MO) - The St. Louis Cardinals moved into a tie with the second-place Pirates in the NL Central with a 5-2 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
David Freese put the Redbirds up for good with a two-run home run in the fourth with Allen Craig adding a solo shot in the fifth.
The Cardinals got a pair of insurance runs in the sixth on Rafael Furcal's two-run triple.
Adam Wainwright allowed two runs in his six innings of work to improve to 11-10.
Paul Goldschmidt hit a solo home run for Arizona as starting pitcher Joe Saunders takes the loss and falls to 6-9.
