(Chicago, IL) - Mike Fiers allowed one run over seven and a third innings of work as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Chicago Cubs 3-1.
The Brewers took a 1-0 lead on an RBI groundout by Aramis Ramirez in the first.
Chicago's Darwin Barney tied the game in the second with a run-scoring groundout of his own.
The score remained tied until the seventh when Jean Segura's RBI single off Cubs starter Jeff Samardzija drove home Nyjer Morgan with the go-ahead run.
Segura would come around and score an insurance run on a steal of second base and a pair of throwing errors.
Fiers allowed four hits and struck out six in improving to 8-6.
Samardzija gave up two earned runs over seven innings and struck out ten, but takes the loss to fall to 8-12.
