(San Diego, CA) Eric Stults and four relievers combined on a five-hit shutout as the San Diego Padres blanked the Chicago Cubs 2-0.
The Padres scored both runs in the fourth inning with Yonder Alonso and Everth Cabrera collecting RBI singles off Cubs starter Travis Wood.
Stults went five and a third innings, allowing all five Chicago hits while walking two to even his record at 2-2.
Brad Brach, Dale Thayer, Lance Gregorson and Huston Street combined to pitch three and two-thirds innings of hitless relief with Street recording his 19th save.
Wood allowed two runs on five hits over six innings to fall to 4-8. The Cubs have lost six games in a row.
