(Chicago, IL) - AJ Pierzynski hit a go-ahead, two-run homer off Bartolo Colon in Chicago’s five-run bottom of the sixth as the White Sox came from behind to beat the Oakland Athletics 7-3.
Sox starter Chris Sale was the beneficiary of the big inning as he allowed two runs on six hits and struck out eleven A's to get the win and move to 14-3.
All of Oakland's runs came via solo home runs off the bats of Jonny Gomes, Adam Rosales and Derek Norris.
Colon takes the loss to drop to 9-9.
Chicago's win combined with Detroit's loss at Texas gives the White Sox a two-game edge on the Tigers in the AL Central.
