(San Diego, CA) - The San Diego Padres completed a three-game series sweep of St. Louis, edging the Cardinals 3-2 at Petco Park.
Logan Forsythe put San Diego on the board with a solo homer off St. Louis starter Kyle Lohse in the second inning.
Cameron Maybin made it 2-0 Padres with an RBI double in the fifth. The Cardinals tied the game in the sixth when Matt Carpenter hit a two-run homer off San Diego starter Clayton Richard in the sixth.
The Padres regained the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth on Yasmani Grandal's RBI single.
Richard went seven innings, allowing two runs on three hits as the McCutcheon High School product improves to 13-12.
Lohse allowed three runs, two earned - over six innings and falls to 14-3.
