(Lincoln, AL) - Matt Kenseth survived a 25 car pileup at Talladega Superspeedway to win the fourth race in NASCAR’s chase series.
Tony Stewart instigated the violent crash on the last lap of the race when the defending Sprint Cup champion tried to block an entire line of traffic.
Stewart accepted responsibility for the calamity after the crash sent his car airborne and collected ten of the twelve title contenders.
Indiana's Jeff Gordon survived the wreckage to finish second and jump four spots in the standings to sixth place.
Kyle Busch was third yesterday, David Ragan was fourth, and Regan Smith came in fifth. Brad Keselowski has a fourteen point lead on Jimmie Johnson for the championship lead.
Denny Hamlin retains his third place standing on the table, Kasey Kahne jumped two spots to fourth, and Clint Bowyer slipped one spot to fifth.
Stewart fell two spots to seventh and Dale Earnhardt Junior is virtually out-of-contention after falling four spots to eleventh.
