(Fargo, ND) - The Indiana Pacers begin preseason play tonight against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Fargo, North Dakota.
The Pacers put together an outstanding campaign during the lockout shortened season, where the blue-and-gold compiled a record of 42-24 and entered the East playoffs seeded third.
President Donnie Walsh and General Manager Kevin Pritchard made several changes to the Pacers bench only weeks after being hired to run the team.
They traded guards Darren Collison and Dahntay Jones to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for center Ian Mahinmi, who will find minutes as a backup to all-star Roy Hibbert.
DJ Augustin was a restricted free agent for the Charlotte Bobcats and was recruited to fill Collison's role as backup point guard.
They also signed guard/forward Gerald Green who averaged nearly 13 points in 31 games with the Brooklyn Nets, or formerly the New Jersey Nets, last season.
Gone from the team are center Lou Amundson and guard Leandro Barbosa.
The game is part of a home-and-home for the Pacers, who return to Indianapolis Friday night for a preseason rematch against Minnesota.
Tonight's game at the Fargo Dome tips at 8:00.
