(Clemson, SC) - The Purdue Boilermakers built a 20 point halftime lead over the Clemson Tigers and never looked back during a 73-61 road victory in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge.
DJ Byrd led a first half barrage that included six 3-pointers from the Crawfordsville native and helped the Boilermakers to a 42-to-22 lead at the break.
Byrd finished with 22 points on the evening and Terone Johnson added 13 points, six assists, and six rebounds for 3-3 Purdue.
The 4-2 Tigers were playing without their leading scorer, Milton Jennings, who was suspended following an arrest Wednesday that included drug possession charges for hash and marijuana.
The Boilermakers are off until Saturday when they host the 5-1 Xavier Musketeers.
