(Indianapolis, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts added rookie defensive tackle Josh Chapman to the injured reserve list yesterday, effectively ending his season for the 7-4 playoff contender.
Chapman was activated last month after knee surgery in January caused him to miss his entire rookie season.
The fifth round pick from Alabama suffered the injury midway through Crimson Tide's 2011 campaign and missed the remainder of the team's National Championship run.
The Colts filled one of the roster spots with defensive tackle Kellen Heard, a journeyman who recently spent time with the St. Louis Rams.
He was waived by St. Louis on November 11th and started his professional career with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2010.
The Colts visit the 4-7 Detroit Lions Sunday.
