(Phoenix, AZ) - Jimmie Johnson is in position to win his sixth NASCAR top-flight title and carries a seven point lead over Brad Keselowski entering this weekend’s run at Phoenix International Raceway.
Johnson has won the last two races to build his slim lead over Keselowski and has an excellent history at Phoenix, winning four of the last ten races at the one-mile tri-oval.
Keselowski has never won at PIR, and recorded his best finish ever when he came in fifth earlier this season.
Both Indiana drivers have been eliminated from title contention.
Jeff Gordon is sixth on the points table and is equal to Kenseth with 72 points between them and Johnson.
Defending champion Tony Stewart is eighth on the table and eighty points off the lead.
Only two races remain in the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
The AdvoCare 500 begins at 2:00 on Sunday.
