(Los Angeles, CA) - The Indiana Pacers begin a four game road swing tonight when they play the 7-and-7 Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center.
The Pacers 6-8 record is far below team expectations for this season, but heftier contributions from Paul George and David West show an improved offense that's becoming acclimated to the absence of Danny Granger.
Indiana have won two of their last three games and almost scored their first win in eleven tries over the San Antonio Spurs Friday night.
The Spurs erased a 17 point deficit to rally late and stun the Pacers in front of the home crowd at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
Former Pacer Metta World Peace, or Ron Artest, is averaging 14 points a game this season and led all scorers Saturday with 19 points.
Future Hall-of-Fame point guard Steve Nash played for D'Antoni during his days with the Phoenix Suns but has missed four weeks with a fractured foot.
Tipoff between the Pacers and Lakers is at 10:30 pm.
